The widening of the Great Western Highway, the newly opened F4 tollway, the extension of the F4 Freeway to Lapstone and the re-alignment of the Woodford Bends has dramatically reduced the travelling time to the Blue Mountains from Sydney. The Rail Services are also being constantly upgraded and the importance of the Blue Mountains as a major Tourist destination and to the NSW Government is shown by a platform being dedicated to the area.
